Looking forward to next weekend in Charlotte, NC for the Heroes Convention.
I saw Thor last night in 3D. Marvel promised that I wouldn't be disappointed. Thanks Marvel. I wasn't impressed and wished I'd saved the extra 7 bucks it costs me and my girlfriend for tickets in amazing 3D. The glasses were too narrow which limits your peripheral vision. They also have a dark tint which makes the film appear too dark. And what do you know, Thor wasn't filmed in 3D. It shows.
That being said, I really, really enjoyed it. And I'm positive I saw Walter Simonson in the film. And that made it extraordinary.
i would encourage every artist who uses watercolor board to stop buying crescent. i have found recently that their board buckles and the top layer comes unglued after i applied just one wash of color. i mean come on. on the back of the board it says,"crescent water color board." the keyword here is water. you have to use water when using watercolors. but if the board is going to buckle and the plies are going to separate then it becomes just a big waste of time and money.
so i implore you artists, especially those that paint to ask for strathmore from your local art store. sadly my local art store, dick blick does not carry strathmore watercolor board. but you can go to strathmore.com and order it there. i tried asking the dick blick employee about the problem and of course they had no idea what i was talking about. go figure. thanks dick.
